If you need a certified weighmaster ticket for a U-Haul, RV, horse trailer, dump trailer, boat trailer, or a military PPM/DITY load, try a dedicated public scale house first. Use CAT when you want axle weights at a truck stop and your combination is over 2,000 lb. In California, go inside for a printed ticket if you need a weighmaster certificate — CAT’s Weigh My Truck PDF is not valid for that in CA.

CDFA’s public-scales list is privately owned facilities that offer truck-weighing services. That includes chemical plants, rock companies, and scrap yards. Many will not weigh a walk-up U-Haul. We are not inventing “livestock OK” or hours for these. If you have a dump trailer and a landfill scale is your only option, call and ask whether they issue a weighmaster certificate to the public.
