Public scales in eastern New Mexico (Clovis, Hobbs & Eunice)
Three CAT Scales verified on the operators’ own location pages along the Texas line in eastern New Mexico: Love’s #329 Clovis on US-60, Pilot #557 Hobbs on US-62 / US-180, and Love’s #760 Eunice on NM-18. Useful for U-Haul and PPM moves to or from Cannon AFB, RVs and fifth-wheels crossing to Lubbock or Midland–Odessa, and horse and stock trailers in dairy and ranch country.
This page lists 3 places to weigh near Clovis, Hobbs & Eunice, NM: 3 CAT or truck-stop scales. They are in Clovis, Hobbs and Eunice. 3 are listed as likely to print a certified weight ticket, the kind PPM movers and RV owners checking weight ratings usually need. CAT platforms have a 2,000 lb minimum and do not give corner weights.
Filters hide cards, not industrial rows. CAT will not weigh under 2,000 lb — use a dedicated house for cars and empty utility trailers.
No verified dedicated public scale house in eastern New Mexico yet
We have not found a walk-up public scale house in Clovis, Portales, Hobbs, Lovington or Eunice with an operator page we can cite. We are not inventing one from feed lots, dairies, oilfield yards, gravel pits, landfill gate scales, or third-party trucker directories. All three stops below are CAT Scales at truck stops, verified on Love’s and Pilot’s own location pages.
CAT Scales in eastern New Mexico
We list only stops verified on the operator’s own location page. All three pages list a CAT Scale and say the store is open 24 hours; none publishes a CAT-staffing schedule. Clovis is about 140 miles north of Hobbs, so these are separate weigh points rather than one cluster: Clovis covers US-60 / US-84 and Cannon AFB, Hobbs and Eunice cover the Lea County oilfield. North on US-54 / I-40, the nearest verified stop is Love’s #262 Tucumcari on Tucumcari / Glenrio / I-40. 2,000 lb floor. No corner weights. Weigh the whole rig, then drop the trailer and weigh again if you need a trailer-only number.
Love’s own page says Store Open 24-hours. CAT-staffing hours are not published separately.
Love’s own Clovis page lists CAT Scales among amenities; US-60 at the County Road G exit (Curry County), west side of Clovis toward Cannon AFB. The only verified CAT stop on the US-60 / US-84 corridor between Fort Sumner and the Texas line. CAT 2,000 lb floor; no corner weights. New Mexico weighmaster rules differ from California — confirm ticket needs with your TO or licensing office. Do not unload horses in the lot. Confirm on CAT’s locator. Not a DOT station.
Pilot’s own page says Open 24 Hours. CAT-staffing hours are not published separately.
Pilot’s own Hobbs page lists CAT Scale among the store’s offerings; US-62 / US-180 on the west side of Hobbs (Lea County), toward Carlsbad. Oilfield traffic is heavy on this corridor; expect a truck queue at shift changes. CAT 2,000 lb floor; no corner weights. New Mexico weighmaster rules differ from California — confirm ticket needs with your TO or licensing office. Do not unload horses in the lot. Confirm on CAT’s locator. Not a DOT station.
Love’s own page says Store Open 24-Hours. CAT-staffing hours are not published separately.
Love’s own Eunice page lists CAT Scales among amenities; NM-18 at the Hwy 234 / Andrews exit (Lea County), near the Texas line. Lists RV hookups, RV dump service and RV-friendly parking. Love’s all-locations list still files #760 under Clovis, but its own page is Eunice. CAT 2,000 lb floor; no corner weights. New Mexico weighmaster rules differ from California — confirm ticket needs with your TO or licensing office. Do not unload horses in the lot. Confirm on CAT’s locator. Not a DOT station.
New Mexico ports of entry on US-60, US-62 and the other Texas-line crossings are for commercial vehicles — not a place to buy a civilian weighmaster ticket for a U-Haul, RV, boat, horse trailer, or PPM load. Follow posted signs; do not treat this directory as a bypass guide.
What we still need to verify
Any dedicated public scale house in Curry, Roosevelt, Lea, Eddy or Chaves County with an operator page that sells walk-up weighmaster certificates. CAT-scale staffing hours at all three stops. Roswell, Artesia and Carlsbad stops have no own-page CAT verified yet. Livestock policy everywhere.
